AMMAN — Recent rainfall brought
precipitation up to 105 percent of Jordan's long-term average of 8.1 billion
cubic meters, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation said on Tuesday.

This time last year, precipitation in the
Kingdom had reached only 78.5 percent of average, the Jordan News Agency,
Petra, reported.
According to the ministry, Maan governorate
received the highest rainfall during recent downpours, at 17.3mm.
Dam storageThe ministry said the storage of Jordan’s
dams stood at 120 million cubic meters — 42.77 percent of their total storage
capacity of 280.7 million cubic meters — as of Tuesday morning.
About half a million cubic meters were
channeled into the Kingdom’s main dams during the 24-hour period between Monday
and Tuesday morning.
