Sources from Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that tenders will be floated in July, inviting bids from international companies to operate the mega transportation project.
GAM is also expecting the BRT system to begin operating at the end of the current year.
According to the project’s literature, the 11-package BRT, “will be the centerpiece of a fully-integrated and hierarchical public transport network.”
Four major components of the project have been completed and others are expected to be ready to go this summer.
