of rain scarcity.

Director of Agriculture in Karak, Musab
Al-Tarawneh stated that the heavy rains accompanying the recent low-pressure
system will contribute to supporting and improving the agricultural season by
increasing soil moisture reserves, adding that this will have a positive impact
on summer crops, including legumes and field crops planted late in the western
areas of the governorate, Khaberni reported.
Tarawneh noted that the rainfall reached an
average of 30 mm and will contribute to increasing groundwater reserves,
raising dam levels such as Mujib and Lajoun dams. It will also increase the water supply coming from
water harvesting in household wells, prolonging the life of natural pasture
plants, reducing the feed bill for livestock breeders, and improving the
quality of tree fruits.
