AMMAN — The World Forum of the Red Cross, hosted by the
Jordan National Red Crescent Society (JNRCS), commenced in Amman on Monday to
tackle critical issues including strategies for building trust and combatting
misinformation and hate speech.

Bringing together 180 communication specialists from 80
countries, the three-day conference aims to strengthen trust in the Red Cross
and Red Crescent among the international community, the Jordan News Agency,
Petra, reported.
The event will see the participation of representatives from
the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, the
International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and national
societies from around the world.
Effective communication
During the working sessions, experts will share their
knowledge and experiences in various communication domains, encompassing
storytelling, digital marketing, and media engagement.
Speaking about the importance of effective communication,
Muhammad Hadid, President of the JNRCS, emphasized, "Communication is an
essential part of our humanitarian mission. It enables us to reach the local
community's target groups and engage with all segments of society."
He further expressed the goal of meeting humanitarian needs,
humanizing the media by highlighting different aspects of suffering, and
fostering better responses while reducing the burden on vulnerable groups.
Highlighting the social, economic, and health challenges
faced by many individuals in Jordan, including Syrian refugees, Hadid
emphasized the significance of sharing their stories and educating the
community about the obstacles they encounter and possible solutions.
