AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein, the Regent, on Tuesday received World Tourism Organization Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili, who is visiting Jordan to head the 49th annual meeting of the UNWTO’s Regional Commission for the Middle East, according to a Royal Court statement.
The meeting, held at Beit Al-Urdun, covered means to bolster cooperation with the UNWTO to continue to expand Jordan’s tourism sector by building capacities and promoting sustainable tourism.

Crown Prince Al Hussein noted the importance of bolstering Jordan’s role as a founding member of the organization.
The 49th annual meeting of the UNWTO’s Regional Commission for the Middle East is scheduled to open at the Dead Sea on Wednesday.
Tourism Minister Makram Queisi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain, and UNWTO Regional Director for the Middle East Basmah Al Mayman attended the meeting.
