AMMAN — According to a report issued
by international platforms
DataReportal and
Ookla, Jordan had 9.95 million
internet users as of the end of January 2023, representing an internet
penetration rate of 88.0 percent in the Kingdom.

The report, carried by a local media
outlet, also highlighted that the
number of internet users in Jordan has
increased by 633,000, a 6.8 percent increase, between 2022 and 2023.

Connection speedData published by Ookla showed that
internet users in Jordan can expect an average mobile internet connection speed
over cellular networks of 16.60 megabits per second and an average fixed
internet connection speed of 74.46 megabits per second as of the beginning of
2023.
However, the Ookla data also
revealed that the
average mobile internet connection speed in Jordan decreased
by 2.76 megabits per second, a 14.3 percent decrease, in the 12 months leading
up to the beginning of 2023, while fixed internet connection speeds in Jordan
increased by 21.10 megabits per second, a 39.5 percent increase, during the
same period.
