AMMAN— On
Friday, the Royal Jordanian Hashemite Documentation Center published a document
on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the founding of the University
of Jordan, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The document
includes the approval on the university’s budget during the period from
September 1st, 1962 to March 31, 1963.
The document
showed the university's revenues and expenditures, as the total imports in the
specified period amounted to JD50, 960, including JD50,000 as a government grant,
and JD960 for the first installment of university fees.
The total
expenditures for the same period amounted to JD50,960, including the salaries
of faculty members, who were 8 at that time. The total salaries of the staff amounted
to JD4275; while total salaries of the administrative staff, who were 21 amounted
to JD3600.
Other expenses included transportation fees,
references and books for the library, magazines and scientific periodicals,
water, lighting, heating and supplies, stationery and publications,
foundational expenses (renovations and furniture) and others.
The third
page of the document showed the signatures of the members of the Board of
Trustees of the University of Jordan, namely: Samir Al-Refai as President,
Saeed Al-Mufti as Vice-President, among others.
The Royal
Documentation Center presented this document to an international Jordanian Arab
university institution, which contributed to the engineering of Jordanian
society and provided it with the competencies and expertise that built the
administrative, cultural, and political elite of Jordan.
