The meeting focused on addressing social security issues affecting Jordanians residing across various countries, emphasizing mechanisms and procedures to facilitate their voluntary enrollment.
According to a statement by the SSC, Tarawneh underscored the national imperative of ensuring social protection for Jordanian expatriates, particularly as some host countries lack inclusive retirement systems and social insurance laws. This aligns with the corporation's strategic goal to expand social security coverage.
Tarawneh highlighted the pivotal role of forums, associations, and clubs representing Jordanian expatriates in conveying the corporation's message and promoting voluntary social security enrollment.
He emphasized that such enrollment enables expatriates to access future benefits under the Social Security Law, including pensions for old age, disability, and survivors.
Additionally, these organizations play a crucial role in supporting national efforts to address unemployment by facilitating job opportunities for Jordanians abroad.
"Our social commitment is to encompass every Jordanian, both inside and outside the Kingdom, under the social security umbrella," Tarawneh affirmed, citing Jordanian expatriates' significant contribution to the country's GDP, with remittances comprising 21% in 2023.
Al-Rifai echoed the importance of enhancing communication between national institutions and Jordanian communities abroad, advocating for greater responsiveness to their needs and suggestions. He praised the Corporation's ongoing initiatives to engage with expatriates through forums, clubs, and media outreach, noting their role as cultural ambassadors abroad.
Al-Rifai highlighted the Al-Nashama Forum's extensive global presence, encompassing 90 branches across 44 countries, 25 Facebook pages with over one and a half million followers, and more than 350 WhatsApp groups facilitating community communication.
He noted recent advancements, such as the "Expatriate" application offering over 100 free services to expatriates, further enhancing support and connectivity.
The collaboration between the Nashma Forum and the Social Security Corporation was lauded for its joint efforts in addressing expatriate issues and promoting awareness through digital platforms and community networks.
