AMMAN — The
Social Security Corporation
(SSC) has announced that it has updated its maximum monthly salary
contributions and
unemployment compensation limits for subscribers this year.

This update comes as a result of the
inflation rate for the year 2022, which was 1.31 percent, according to
Khaberni.
New maximum monthly salary for
contributions
The maximum monthly salary on which
social security contributions are calculated for the year 2023 has been raised to
JD3,538, up from JD3,394 in the previous year.
The increase is in accordance with the
provisions of the
Social Security Law, which mandates that the maximum salary
on which contributions are calculated be linked to inflation annually.
Unemployment compensation
The maximum limit for unemployment
compensation for the year 2023 has also been updated to JD591 per month,
compared to JD567 in the previous year.
This measure is also in accordance with the
Social Security Law, which requires the maximum limit for net
unemployment compensation to be linked to inflation annually.
The SSC also reported that the average
wages of insured Jordanians under social security for the year 2023 amounted to
JD618, compared to JD610 for insured Jordanians during last year 2022.
