The meeting took place on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

Safadi emphasized the need to protect civilians and ensure sustainable humanitarian aid delivery to Palestinians in Gaza. He highlighted the crucial role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and called for increased international support to maintain its vital services for Palestinian refugees.

In a separate meeting with French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot, Safadi stressed the importance of launching a robust international initiative to halt the escalating violence.

He warned that continued Israeli military actions in Gaza and Lebanon could lead to a broader regional conflict. Both ministers discussed enhancing cooperation between Jordan and France in delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza and strengthening bilateral relations.

Safadi also met with Josep Borrell, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, to discuss the Jordanian-European partnership and efforts to reinforce it.

The talks focused on the need to halt Israeli aggression in the region, de-escalate tensions in the West Bank, and address violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
