AMMAN — On Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs
and Expatriates Ayman Safadi met with US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken
in Washington, DC, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

Earlier
on Wednesday, Safadi held talks with a number of officials including members of
the US Senate and House of Representatives and discussed ways to enhance the
Jordanian-American partnership.
The
meeting also discussed the new memorandum of understanding, which frames US aid
to Jordan and comes in place of the current four-year memorandum, which expires
at the end of September.
During
the meeting, Safadi commended US support and aid to Jordan which enables the
Kingdom to pursue development and counter economic challenges and regional
crises, especially the repercussions of the refugee crisis and the COVID-19
pandemic.
