Safadi said the partnership is based on the Kingdom's
constant calls for the resolution of all regional crises, foremost is the
Palestinian issue, which was and will remain the basis of the conflict and the solution
in the region.
During the Mediterranean Conference of the Organization for
Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Safadi said that the Palestinian cause
“was and will remain the basis for a solution and for security and peace, which
we all want to build for a better future of opportunity and cooperation, free
from occupation”.
“There is an occupation a few kilometers away from of the
place where we are right now, and therefore our stand against the occupation
remains the same,” Safadi told the gathering on the shorelines of the Dead Sea,
attended by North Macedonia Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani.
Osmani thanked Jordan for hosting the conference, which tackles
all issues pertaining to the Mediterranean region. The minister noted that
Jordan is a genuine partner, which supports the organization's agenda.
He said that the organization is trying to address security
challenges in the Middle East and the world, and called for a way to ease the
burden of the Russian war on Ukraine and its people.
The conference is entitled “Strengthening security and
cooperation in the Mediterranean region: strengthening dialogue with
Mediterranean partners of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in
Europe.”
It addresses many issues, including the role of youth in
development and security, and cooperation in addressing the challenges posed by
climate change, in addition to economic empowerment, and combating human trafficking.
