AMMAN — The next stage will see more joint
Arab action, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and
Expatriates,
Ayman Safadi, said, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

Safadi said during a meeting with parliament’s
Foreign Affairs Committee that the atmosphere at the Jeddah Security and
Development Summit held last weekend in the Red Sea city of
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia was positive and that the Arab proposal was coherent and strong.
“We went to the Jeddah summit to focus on our
priorities and our most important issue, which is the Palestinian cause,
achieving security and peace, and focusing on regional cooperation,” Safadi
told the meeting.
He said that a joint Jordanian-American statement
emphasized the strength of Jordan’s role in the region.
He stressed the need to find a political solution to
the Syrian issue, with the need to provide support for countries, which host
refugees.
Safadi drew attention to the fact that necessary
mechanisms exists to assist Jordanians abroad who need help. He said the
Foreign Ministry works around the clock to provide service to those who need
it.
The Jeddah Summit, which concluded last Saturday,
brought together US President Joe Biden with the leaders of the
Gulf Cooperation Council, His Majesty King Abdullah, and the leaders of Iraq and Egypt, along
with its host, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.
The US president told Arab leaders that Washington
would remain an active partner in the Middle East, but he failed to secure
commitments for a regional security body which would involve Arabs and Israel.
