This process involves documenting all paperwork related to building permit transactions in both electronic and paper formats, with multiple copies securely stored on dedicated servers as part of an advanced archiving system within the municipality.

Municipality Mayor, Engineer Mohammad Al-Hiyari, stated that these measures align with the municipality’s goal of improving services and streamlining administrative procedures. He noted that this project represents a significant advancement among the municipalities in the kingdom, highlighting that Salt Municipality has been working for years on transitioning all paper-based transactions into a fully integrated electronic system. This initiative aims to simplify licensing procedures for citizens while safeguarding the rights of both individuals and the municipality.

Al-Hiyari emphasized that this step is crucial in preserving and protecting building permit records from loss or damage while providing a reliable reference for both citizens and the municipality.

Additionally, the archiving process facilitates integration between the Directorate of Building and Construction Licensing and other relevant departments within the municipality, such as the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Directorate. This enhances operational efficiency and reduces the time and effort required to complete procedures.

He added that the new system enables citizens and employees to easily access any transaction through a unique reference number assigned to each permit or plot of land, thereby saving time and reducing administrative complexities.

This system marks a significant milestone in the municipality’s digital transformation journey, aimed at improving citizen experience and elevating service quality.

It is worth noting that the Greater Salt Municipality was among the first municipalities in the kingdom to adopt such an advanced archiving system, reflecting its commitment to service development and keeping pace with technological advancements in local governance.
