AMMAN — During
its 44th session, the
UNESCO World Heritage Committee added Salt to its World Heritage List. The committee, which convened in Fuzhou, China, stated that Al-Salt is a city of “hospitality” and
“tolerance," according to Al-Ghad news.

Upon receiving the
news, Jordan’s Prime Minister
Bisher Al-Khasawneh tweeted: “We are very proud
to have #As_Salt,
The Place of Tolerance and Urban Hospitality, inscribed on the World Heritage
List of #UNESCO The city where Jordanian Muslims and Christians sharing the same noble values
and traditions have been living together for the past hundreds of years.”
