School absenteeism in Jordan is low — ministry

AMMAN — Ministry of Education spokesperson Ahmad Al-Masaafah said school absenteeism in Jordan is low, compared to other Arab countries and the world average, because of the measures taken by the Ministry of Education in this regard, Khaberni News reported.اضافة اعلان

Masaafah added that schools in Jordan monitor students’ attendance daily, with attendance and absence being recorded electronically, and that if a student misses school, the school informs the student’s guardian to find the reason.

The reasons for school absenteeism are often economic, social, and cultural.
