AMMAN — Jordan is set to endure
scorching temperatures today
as it remains under the persistent influence of a hot and dry air mass situated
over the Arabian Peninsula. The
Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) reports
that maximum temperatures are expected to soar significantly above the usual
averages for this time of year, ranging approximately 4 to 5 degrees Celsius
higher.

Today’s
peak temperatures will be between 37 and 35 degrees
Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 26
or even 24 degrees in the southern highlands at night, the Jordan News Agency,
Petra reported. Aqaba is expected to have a high of 45 degrees Celsius with a
low of 29 degrees Celsius.

Looking ahead, meteorological projections
indicate that the heatwave will persist through Thursday and Friday, with the
weather remaining hot and dry across most parts of the kingdom.
On Saturday, the impact of the hot air mass is predicted to ease slightly,
resulting in a minor decline in temperatures. Nonetheless, the weather is still
expected to be relatively hot over mountainous areas and plains. Meanwhile,
Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will continue to experience scorching
temperatures.
