AMMAN — A plane carrying Russian tourists landed
at King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba on Sunday, the second of weekly
scheduled flights to the Kingdom that are expected to continue through to the
end of the year.

Director of the
Jordan Tourism Board, Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat,
said "We expect an increase in the number of Russian planes carrying
tourists to the Kingdom during the coming period."
The first Russian plane
carrying 220 tourists
arrived at the King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba on June 20, according to the
Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The Minister of Tourism and
Antiquities Nayef Hamidi Al-Fayez said at the time that Jordan is more than
ready to receive tourists from abroad and that the Kingdom is seeing low rates
of
COVID-19.
Tourism to the Kingdom was
hard hit by the pandemic, with Jordan seeing its first tourism flight since the
pandemic started, arrive at the King Hussein International Airport on May 1,
carrying tourists from Bulgaria.
