AMMAN — On Monday, the Senate’s standing committees,
headed by
Rajai Muasher, the second vice president of the Senate, were briefed
by the ministerial team about the government's plans for the years 2021-2023,
according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Muasher lauded the government’s efforts and its implementation
of policies and reforms to stimulate economic growth, generate job
opportunities, and support priority economic sectors.
Nasser Al-Shraideh, the minister
of planning and international cooperation and chairman of the Economic
Development Committee, presented the committees with the government’s plans,
which will be submitted as a document to His Majesty King Abdullah II at the
end of August.
Shraideh
said that the plans are set to improve the business and investment sector, enhance
competition and employment, and support the economic sector, which bore the
brunt of COVID-19. This will boost private sector jobs, increasing the volume
of domestic and foreign investments and exports.
Some plans targeting the legislative and institutional sectors
include increasing investments, reducing production costs, and establishing
five infrastructural projects at a cost of JD260 million in 2021, in addition
to JD2 billion worth of projects in 2022, he said.
