Senate joint committee endorses NCHR bill

AMMAN (JNews) — The Senate Joint Legal and Freedoms and Citizens Rights Committee endorsed a draft amending the National Center for Human Rights (NCHR) law, as passed by the Lower House, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. The Legal Committee, headed by Senator Ahmad Tbeishat, and the Committee on Freedoms and Citizens’ Rights, headed by Senator Mahmoud Abu Jumaa, approved the bill during a meeting Tuesday attended by Minister of State for Legal Affairs Wafaa Bani Mustafa. The amendment took into consideration the importance of the roles entrusted to the NCHR chairman of the board of trustees, and the commissioner general, and reasserted the need for their neutrality and fairness. AMMAN (JNews) — The Senate Joint Legal and Freedoms and Citizens Rights Committee endorsed a draft amending the National Center for Human Rights (NCHR) law, as passed by the Lower House, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
 


The Legal Committee, headed by Senator Ahmad Tbeishat, and the Committee on Freedoms and Citizens’ Rights, headed by Senator Mahmoud Abu Jumaa, approved the bill during a meeting Tuesday attended by Minister of State for Legal Affairs Wafaa Bani Mustafa.
