President of the Senate
Faisal Al-Fayez Wednesday discussed with Dutch
Ambassador to Jordan Harry Verweij Jordanian-Dutch relations and means to boost
them in various fields, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

During the meeting,
Fayez said
Jordanian-Dutch relations are strong and “based on mutual respect
and common interests.” He called for enhancing joint investments, especially in
the fields of water, agriculture, and tourism, underlining the need to increase
trade exchange and removing obstacles to economic cooperation.
He also highlighted
Jordan’s firm positions under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah on
different regional issues and His Majesty’s commitment to bringing about peace
in the region.
For his part, the
Dutch envoy lauded His Majesty’s key role to achieve peace, security, and
stability in the region and resolve crises.
He pointed to
cooperation between Jordan and the Netherlands, stressing his country’s
commitment to further developing relations to serve common interests.
