The price of one
liter of unleaded 90-octane gasoline will go down by JD.005 to sell at JD0.985,
while unleaded 95-octane gasoline will be reduced by JD.070 to JD1.230 in September,
according to a statement by the Ministry of Energy.
But the committee
hiked the price of diesel and kerosene fuel by JD0.35 for September.
The decision came
during the committee’s monthly meeting, which was held Wednesday, to set the
price of selling oil derivatives locally for the period of September 1–30.
In its earlier
decisions, the government had fixed diesel and kerosene prices from November
2021 to the end of April 2022, and also took the same measure for 90, and
95-octane gasoline, effective February until the end of April 2022.
But the government
has since started to gradually adjust fuel prices to keep pace with the
fluctuations in the global markets as of the beginning of May 2022.
