AMMAN — Issa Masarwa, the
secretary-general of the Higher Population Council and the Chairman of the
Steering Committee of
ShareNet Jordan, along with Ali Mutlaq, the director of
the Studies and Policies Unit and Coordinator of ShareNet Jordan, met with 18
experts from institutions in Egypt that work in the field of sexual and
reproductive health.

The meeting discussed the expansion of ShareNet's knowledge platform into the region, with a focus on sharing
knowledge and best practices related to sexual and reproductive health, the
Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Reframing policiesThe meeting was held to build
strategic partnerships and strengthen communication between activists in the
region who work on these issues, according to a HPC statement Sunday.
Experts discussed ways to tap new
members of sexual and reproductive health, and gather knowledge that would
guide the process of reforming policies and work programs.
Masarwa briefed a group of
stakeholders at the Cairo-based Social Research Center at the American
University on the council's mission and population data and information related
to development.
He also discussed the council's
contribution to forming policies, strategies, and action plans on population
and development.
Mutlaq gave a briefing on ShareNet
Jordan's achievements and works related to sexual and reproductive health and
reproductive rights in the Kingdom.
What is ShareNet?ShareNet Jordan, which was created
in 2016, aims to showcase research, policies, and practices by generating,
sharing, translating, and promoting the use of knowledge on its platform to
develop better sexual and reproductive health policies and practices.
