King Abdullah received
on Sunday the annual report on the conditions and workflow of the Sharia courts
for the year 2021.
The report included
the prominent achievements during that year, the main indicators of the courts’
work, the department’s aspirations and future ambitions, as well as the
challenges facing the implementation of its plans, especially since the report
coincided with the centenary of the state and the centenary of the Chief
Islamic Justice Department.
Rabtah said that
the Sharia courts heard 98.3 percent, or 100,000, of the cases it received last
year, a 19 percent increase over 2020.
Around 70,000
e-cards have been issued, which allow payment through ATMs for court services,
Rabtah said.
He said that around JD35 million had been collected through
the court’s e-payment service last year.
