Sheep used as drug mules seized with half a million pills in their stomachs

AMMAN – Security forces have seized 500,000 narcotic pills that were wrapped in small plastic tubes and stuffed down the gullets of 300 sheep. The sheep were being transported in a truck in preparation of shipping them out of the kingdom, according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra)اضافة اعلان

About two months ago, authorities received a tip off that a person was attempting to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics from Jordan in a freight vehicle, a media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said.

Upon identifying and stopping the vehicle it was found to be loaded with sheep. After examining one of the sheep it was found to have been fed plastic tubes filled with narcotic pills.

The two people suspected to be involved in the case have been identified and their descriptions circulated to the relevant authorities. One of the suspects was arrested Wednesday while the second is still at large, the media spokesman confirmed.
