AMMAN — The Commissioner of Tourism and
Environment at the
Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Nidal
Al-Majali announced the departure of the “Flower of the Sea” ship from Aqaba’s
port, Khaberni said.

Majali said that the company that owns the ship has
committed to paying JD1 million in legal settlements following an oil spill
that polluted the water and coast in the Gulf of Aqaba two months ago.
ASEZA removed the remainder of the environmental damage
that resulted from the incident, and also completed all legal procedures
against who caused it.
