Jordan's
hotel establishments usually experience high demand during Ramadan due to local
visitors and tourists coming to the kingdom. However, with the current
circumstances in Gaza, there has been a noticeable decline in hotel occupancy
rates," as mentioned by the association, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
The Dead Sea
region's hotels saw a "significant decrease" of 45 percent compared
to last year's occupancy rates, where the rates in Ramadan 2023 reached 70
percent, but "the expected occupancy rates for this Ramadan are 25
percent,” according to the association.
Similarly,
hotels in Petra experienced a very pronounced decrease of 67 percent compared
to last year's occupancy rates. The occupancy rate during Ramadan 2023 was 80
percent, but "the expected occupancy rates for this current Ramadan are 13
percent,” as stated by the association.
The
association mentioned that hotel occupancy rates in Amman are "the
highest" compared to other governorates, as "Ramadan is a golden
opportunity to boost tourism movement in Jordan, especially in the capital, by
offering luxurious Ramadan Iftar offers."
However,
hotel occupancy rates in Amman decreased by about 28 percent compared to last
year, as clarified by the association.
The
association stated, "The occupancy rates in Ramadan 2023 reached 70 percent
in Amman, but the expected occupancy rates for this current Ramadan are 25
