AMMAN — The Ministry of Health announced that the number of COVID-19
deaths reached 111 today. A number of 6,570
new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to
6,858 and the caseload to 597,250.

Breaking down Wednesday’s tally, the ministry said that
2,720 cases were recorded in Amman, 1,110 in Irbid, including 118 in Ramtha,
546 in Zarqa, 443 in Balqa, 343 in Mafraq, 286 in Karak, 285 in Ajloun, 251 in
Aqaba, 220 in Jerash, 156 in Tafileh, 138 in Maan , 20 in the Petra region, and
72 in Madaba,
The ministry added in a statement that some 368 people had
recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 441 others were admitted, as
the total number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals stands at 3,350. The number
of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 91,575, the statement
noted, according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra).
More than 9,192 COVID-19 patients, including patients who
had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far. Around 15.22 percent of
the 43,158 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
