Social Security: 7,611 Old-Age Pension Benefits Allocated Last Year
Amman– The Jordanian Social Security Corporation announced that it allocated 7,611 old-age pension benefits last year, bringing the cumulative total, as of the end of last year, to 105,617 pension benefits.اضافة اعلان

In a statement today, Thursday, the Corporation noted that the conditions for receiving an old-age pension are completing the age of 60 for male insured individuals and completing the age of 55 for female insured individuals, with a minimum of 180 subscription periods (equivalent to 15 years). Among these, at least 84 subscription periods must be actual, which equals 7 years.

Actual subscription is defined as mandatory subscription through an employer, voluntary subscription, or periods for which unemployment benefits were paid.

The Corporation also pointed out that the Social Security Law allows those who reach the retirement age but have not completed the required period for the old-age pension to take several options to complete the required period.

These include purchasing the remaining service years, provided the insured has 84 actual subscription periods, or extending their service beyond the retirement age, either through the same employer, if employed by another organization, or through voluntary subscription available to Jordanians.

The Corporation clarified that the old-age pension is directly linked to inflation increases.

The annual increase value is announced on May 1 of each year, and this increase is paid along with the pension for the same month.
