Social Security: Over 33,000 Optional Subscribers in 2024
Amman– The Public Institution for Social Security announced that the number of optional subscribers in 2024 reached 33,756, bringing the total number of active optional subscribers to 101,579 by the end of December.اضافة اعلان

In a statement released on Thursday, the institution noted that the annual increase rate for the salary subject to social security contributions for optional subscribers in 2025 is a maximum of 10%.

It further clarified that all optional subscribers can adjust their salary increase percentage for 2025 during the period from January 1 to February 15, 2025.

The institution explained that optional subscription is available through the insured person's account on the institution's website or its mobile app named "Jordanian Social Security," or via the government's "SAND" app.

Eligibility for optional subscription is available for individuals aged 16 and above but not exceeding 55 years for females and 60 years for males if it is their first subscription with social security.

Optional subscription is also available to those aged over 60 for males or over 55 for females, provided they have previous contributions that were not settled.

The institution called on citizens not covered by mandatory social security, expatriates working abroad, and Jordanian housewives to opt for voluntary subscription, as it offers them and their families a safety net and stability.

The optional subscription has enabled many individuals with previous subscription periods, who had stopped contributing for various reasons such as working abroad or being housewives, to complete the required periods to qualify for retirement benefits. It also provides protection in cases of disability and natural death.

The institution encouraged anyone with questions about optional subscription to contact them through the interactive chat service on their website (www.ssc.gov.jo), via their official email ([email protected]), or call them at (117117) inside Jordan or (065008080) from within and outside Jordan.
