AMMAN — Amman’s Mayor, Youssef Al-Shawarbeh,
inaugurated the 17th season of
Souk Jara on Friday, in the presence of the
Minister of Culture, Haifa Al-Najjar.

During their visit, Shawarbeh and Najjar
toured the market, visiting the displayed stalls and their merchandise, while
meeting with exhibitors who represent various organizations and professional
institutes, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
Now in its 17th year, Souk Jara is a popular
seasonal market in the Kingdom that focuses on handmade products in all
categories.
Vice president of the Jabal Amman Residents
Association, Khader Ghuwas expressed his pride in the collaboration with the
Greater Amman Municipality and other relevant entities that contribute to
adopting projects and initiatives that serve the local community.
Considered one of the most important touristic
and artistic destinations in Amman, Souk Jara is a prominent landmark and destination
for locals and foreigners alike.
Organized by the association, the market
welcomes visitors every Friday from 10am to 10pm and will run until September
8.
