A military source from the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army, stated that the Southern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs using a drone early this Monday. The incident occurred along the western front of the zone's responsibility area.

The source added that border guard forces in the Southern Military Zone applied the rules of engagement after spotting and tracking the drone. They dealt with it by downing the drone and securing its cargo within Jordanian territory, with the seized materials being handed over to the relevant authorities.
The source emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces will continue to utilize its various capabilities and resources to prevent the arrival of these narcotic substances to the Jordanian people and to protect national security.
