AMMAN — The
Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), a member of the Qatar Foundation has conducted several
studies, monitoring the reality of Arab families, and discussing the challenges
they face, according to Ad-Dustour daily.

The institute also specifically dealt with Jordanian
families, and studied the Arab states’ common denominators, and their cultural,
social, economic and political differences.
Experts from the
institute stressed the importance of studies that monitor the reality of Arab
families, discuss the challenges they face, and provide insights and policies
that can promote family cohesion in the
Arab world. Among such studies are
“Features of strong Arab families in Qatar, Jordan and Tunisia” and “The state
of marriage in the Arab world”.
Chapter III of the first study focused on Jordanian families. For participants from Jordan, the family meant stability and safety,
and the source of warmth and love for its members, while the extended family
was sometimes cited as an important source of support and strength.
The study contributed to a more in-depth look at the
strengths and characteristics of the Jordanian family, and the challenges it faces,
and the manner in which Qatar, Jordan and Tunisia use these family strengths to
face a variet.
