AMMAN — With less than a month remaining until summer solstice, Jordanians can expect a weekend prime for activities because of the warm weather forecast. Temperatures are expected to rise 2 to 3 degrees above annual average, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily statement.اضافة اعلان

During the sunny weekend, father Marwan Najjar plans to take advantage of eased coronavirus restrictions to activate the “picnicking season” with his family. “Trips to Salt and Ajloun are among what we used to do every year, and we are not giving this up after gloomy 2020,” Najjar told Jordan News.

Wadi Al-Rayan in Irbid is another ideal site for warm conditions, according to Najjar. “Mills, creeks, and ponds are very enjoyable there in spring. In brief, any green landscape around the kingdom is a great refreshing option this week,” he said.

According to the JMD, the weather on Thursday is forecast to reach a high of 33°C to 32°C and a low of 19°C in Amman and the Kingdom’s highlands and plains.

Hot weather in the Gulf of Aqaba is expected, as temperatures soar to a high of 41°C during daytime and dip to a low of 26°C during night-time.
The weather department forecasts warm weather to subside by 1 to 2 degrees on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, temperatures in the capital and hilly areas will see a high of 31°C during the day, dropping to 19°C at night. On Saturday, a further slight decrease brings maximums of 30°C and minimums of 18°C in most parts of the country.

Hot conditions prevail in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea area, and Aqaba. On Friday, temperatures are predicted to hover between 40°C and 26°C, dipping a bit on Saturday to 39°C and 25°C.

During the weekend, west winds will be brisk at a moderate to active speed across the Kingdom, with a maximum speed of 24 kilometers per hour and minimum of 10 kilometers per hour in hilly regions and plains. In Badia regions, wind speed will range between highs of 30 kilometers per hour lows of 15 kilometers per hour.
