AMMAN — Syrian security services seized on
Monday a shipment of
Captagon pills that was on its way to the Jordanian
border, a local news outlet quoted Russian news agency Sputnik as saying.

According to Sputnik, a security source in Daraa
said that “the pertinent authorities thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity
of Captagon pills on their way to the Jordanian border”.
The source said that the shipment was hidden in a
secret hideout in a special “pickup” car that was stopped at one of the
security checkpoints in the governorate’s countryside.
The suspects were arrested for attempted smuggling,
and are currently under investigation, before being transferred to the
judiciary, the source said, stressing that the investigation indicated that the
shipment was on its way to Jordan.
