At the signing ceremony, Hanandeh said the agreement affirms the government's keenness to roll out 5G technology services into the Kingdom, in line with Jordan's recently announced Economic Modernization Vision, as the main pillar of the country's information and communications technology (ICT) sector infrastructure.

He noted that this technology will become dominant in public life and business and finance during the coming years, as 5G networks have proven to be a "true" driver for developing businesses and services for all industries and increasing economic sectors' productivity.

5G services are a key factor for the success of the digital transformation process, including the provision of stable and secure infrastructure supported by artificial intelligence innovations and Internet of Things, which would help develop and enable the concept of sustainable smart cities during the next few years, he said.

The minister added that this process would achieve economic growth and push gross domestic product (GDP), which contributes to creating various job opportunities, under a stimulating integrated development environment for all educational, health, industrial and agricultural sectors.
