AMMAN — The
Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has completed the Tafileh Archaeological Museum Project, which is
expected to encourage and revitalize tourism, and which encompasses the
heritage and traditional monuments and antiquities discovered at many of
Tafileh’s archaeological sites, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

Al-Rawashedeh said Monday that the construction of a museum of antiquities by a
local contractor is part of a tourism development project for the city center,
at a cost of JD2.5 million; the cost of establishing the museum amounted to
about JD630,000.
The museum, located next to the historical
Tafileh castle,
has been carried out according to specifications adapted to the history and
nature of Tafileh. It will have on its facilities various archaeological
discoveries and monuments that were found at many sites and belong to various
historical eras. The museum is expected to open before the end of this year.
