AMMAN — Tawjihi (general secondary education certificate
examination) students will set for their mock examinations on the Ministry of
Education’s online platform, Darsak, as of Sunday and until June 26.

The “mock examinations” are the final test of the year
before the official certificate examinations.
The scientific, literary, Sharia, hospitality, and
industrial streams will be setting for
their math exam on Sunday, while agricultural stream students will be taking
taking the agricultural studies test, and home economics students are taking their
professional safety management test, according to the timetable issued by the
Ministry of Education.
Ministry of Education Secretary General for Educational
Affairs Nawaf Al Ajarmeh stressed the importance of what is commonly known as
the “mock exams” for all tawjihi streams, as they constitute the last chance
for the students to evaluate their skills and prepare for the general tawjihi
certificate exams.
Ajarmeh also told
Al Ghad that the mock exams introduce
students to style of the questions that will come up in the ministerial
examinations, which will be begin on June 24, with the Islamic studies test.
He added that only twelfth grade students from public,
military education, and Awqaf schools will be taking the exams on
Darsak, stressing
that a passing grade is a key requirement for admission to the final exams.
The tests will be available online from 9am till 7pm, with each
session limited to one hour.
Up to 207,076 students from all academic and professional
streams are registered to sit for the tawjihi exams this year, according to the
ministry.
