AMMAN — Sunday’s
weather forecast predicts a decrease in
temperature, bringing relief from the scorching heat in some areas. The
temperatures are expected to be around the average for this time of year, with
normal summer weather in mountainous regions and plains. However, the Badia,
the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will continue to experience hot
temperatures.

According to the
Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD),
mercury levels are expected to soar a few degrees on Monday and over the next
couple of days, with relatively hot to hot weather returning to most regions,
Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
Additionally, the weather service has issued a warning about
the danger of direct sun exposure during peak hours, particularly in the
Jordan Valley,
Dead Sea, and
Aqaba. The public has been implored to take precautions,
such as wearing sunscreen and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun, in order
to prevent heat-related illnesses.
Today’s peak temperatures will be between 29°C and 33°C in Amman and various
highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 18°C or even 16°C
in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching
weather, with highs of 42°C
and lows of 25°C.
