The dispute between the two MPs escalated last Tuesday when MP Al-Jarrah attempted to assault his colleague Al-Baqa'i in his office inside the Parliament building.
According to fellow MPs, the conflict between the two stems from the issue of MP Al-Jarrah’s expulsion from the Labor Party, where Al-Baqa'i holds the position of deputy secretary-general. Al-Jarrah accused his colleague Al-Baqa'i of "insulting" him when explaining the reasons for his expulsion from the party.
This disagreement escalated into a larger conflict, resulting in an altercation in which Al-Baqa'i was physically assaulted by Al-Jarrah.
Last night, a parliamentary delegation, led by MP Saleh Al-Armouti and consisting of seven other MPs, intervened and visited MP Al-Baqa'i at his home, where Al-Jarrah apologized, and the dispute was officially resolved.
