Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Azmi Mahafza, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation and coordination with the Jordan Tourism Board, held a ceremony today, Monday, to honor the top international (non-Jordanian) graduates of higher education institutions in Jordan for the third cycle 2023-2024 at the Bristol Hotel. The ceremony was attended by the Ministry's Secretary-General, Dr. Mamoun Al-Debie, the President of the Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission, Dr. Dhaher Al-Saraira, in addition to several attachés and cultural counselors from Arab embassies in Amman, the presidents of Jordanian public and private universities, college deans, and members of the International Student Recruitment Committee of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

In his speech at the event, the Director of the International Student Affairs Unit at the Ministry, Fadi Al-Rousan, said that the ministry’s choice of the title "You Are Jordan’s Ambassadors" carries many noble humanitarian messages about the graduates of Jordanian higher education institutions, whom they truly consider as ambassadors in their homelands, carrying knowledge and ideas, along with beautiful memories they lived in Jordan, the land of Arabism and generosity, and among its noble people, to be true ambassadors. He added that the ministry, through the International Student Affairs Unit, works diligently in coordination with Jordanian universities and colleges, as well as Arab ambassadors and cultural attachés, to overcome any difficulties facing students currently studying in various Jordanian universities and colleges so that each student returns equipped with the knowledge and skills needed by the job market.

Al-Rousan also added that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is currently working in cooperation with its strategic partner, the Jordan Tourism Board, whose tremendous efforts are highly appreciated, to implement additional procedures and arrangements for Arab students studying in Jordanian higher education institutions. Among these is this ceremony, which has become an annual event to honor international students. He also pointed to the development of the "Study in Jordan" website, which provides detailed information about the education system in Jordanian higher education institutions.

Additionally, the most important and beneficial project for international students wishing to study in Jordanian institutions has been completed: the unified electronic admission system for international students. This was accomplished through the Unified Admission Coordination Unit and the International Student Affairs Unit in the ministry, in coordination with all partners (the Ministry of Education, universities, cultural attachés). It was launched at the beginning of the current academic year, 2024-2025, to facilitate the admission process for international students, saving time, effort, and money in obtaining preliminary, final, or conditional acceptance without the need for intermediaries.

Other measures aim to increase the attraction of international students and overcome all obstacles they may face in enrolling in Jordanian higher education institutions. The ministry will also organize various activities, which will be announced in due course, serving Arab and foreign students studying in Jordan.
In his speech on behalf of the honored international students, Yemeni student Hamza Mohammed Al-Ansi, who ranked first among international graduates from Jerash University, said, "Jordan holds a leading position in the field of higher education, making it a destination for many students from different countries around the world. International students in Jordan find a supportive educational environment of high quality, encouraging them to excel academically. Additionally, they have opportunities to participate in various extracurricular activities that leave a lasting impression." He concluded by praying for God's protection over Jordan, keeping it strong and honorable under its wise Hashemite leadership and through the efforts of its people.
