The Parliamentary Legal Committee is set to discuss, on Sunday, the draft Mediation Law for Civil Dispute Resolution of 2019.
Earlier, the head of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Mustafa Al-Amawi, stated that the bill aims to enhance alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to reduce the burden on courts and encourage disputing parties to resort to mediation as a quick and effective procedure for resolving civil cases.

Al-Amawi added that the committee reviewed the provisions of the bill and provided feedback on the organizational procedures and the role of the legal mediator. He emphasized the need to ensure a balance between expediting litigation and protecting the rights of the disputing parties. He also confirmed that the committee will continue studying the bill in consultation with relevant stakeholders to ensure the law is drafted in alignment with best legal practices and strengthens an environment of effective justice.
