The research group addresses key areas, including studying balance and gait disorders across different population groups and examining balance disorders and dizziness resulting from sports-related concussions.

It also explores the relationship between sleep disorders and balance/dizziness issues, aiming to understand their impact on mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. Furthermore, it seeks to develop new strategies to improve balance and gait among older adults.

The group's objectives also include translating and validating measures used for assessing balance, gait, and dizziness, as well as exploring the use of advanced technologies such as virtual reality in the assessment and treatment of balance and gait disorders.

The group aims to promote the application of digital balance assessments in clinical practices and study the vestibular system's function in the inner ear among cochlear implant recipients.

The team is led by Dr. Alia Al-Ghweiri and includes distinguished members such as Dr. Faten Saeed Abidat, Dr. Susan Whitney from the University of Pittsburgh (USA), Dr. Steven Lewis Bell from the University of Southampton (UK), Dr. Susan Abu Zaid from the Royal Medical Services, Anas Jamil, Director of the Hearing and Balance Center, and graduate student Amal Al-Tweissi.

The group aims to build strategic partnerships with relevant sectors and researchers in the field to enhance collaboration and knowledge exchange, thereby advancing research in this critical area.
