The traffic violation blamed for 216 deaths in 2021

AMMAN — The Public Security Department (PSD) cited lane changing as one traffic violation that was responsible for the death of 169 people and the injury of 216 in 2021, Khaberni reported. اضافة اعلان

A PSD traffic report blamed the sudden change of lane while exceeding the speed limit, which leads to the loss of control of the vehicle, for these fatalities and injuries.

According to PSD statistics, there were 11,241 traffic accidents in the Kingdom in 2021, resulting in 589 deaths and 17,485 reported injuries, at an average of more than 30 accidents per day. The PSD estimated the cost of traffic accidents in Jordan for that year at JD320 million.
