Zaatari Camp in

Amari, a Syrian national, said that the
weak internet within the camp and tough
financial conditions were the primary
challenges he faced during his studies, Ammon News reported.
He mentioned that he is the eldest among
his 9 siblings and
lives inside the camp with his father and mother. They have
no source of income except for the JD15 per person they receive monthly from UN
aid.
Yet there is still hope, as various institutions
provide scholarships to refugee communities, such as the EDU-SYRIA/EDU-JORDAN
scholarship which grants to 40 scholarships for a Bachelor’s degree at
Zarqa University and 30 scholarships for an International Diploma at
Luminus Technical University College for
Syrian refugees, or through international
scholarships such as the DAFI scholarship provided by the
UNHCR. Some
universities, such as the Al-Ahliyyah Amman University, provide direct
scholarships to a select number of refugees every year.
This year, 63.4 percent of students passed
the
Tawjihi exams, numbering 70,525 successes. The scientific branch recorded a
pass rate of 75.4 percent, the literary branch had a pass rate of 55.7 percent,
while the pass rate in the vocational stream stood at 60.7 percent.
