AMMAN— The total public debt increased to about JD1.371 billion from the onset of 2022 until the end of last July, according to data released by the
Ministry of Finance, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

The data showed that "the total public debt rose in July by about JD614 million compared to June of 2022."
She pointed out that Jordan's total public debt rose to JD37.137 billion until the end of July 2022, with the debt held by the Social Security Investment Fund.
According to the figures, the total public debt of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) amounted to 112.1 percent until the end of July.
The data also revealed that the size of the government's debt in favor of the Social Security Investment Fund reached about JD7.388 billion until the end of July.
