AMMAN — During the first half of August, Ministry of
Tourism and Antiquities inspection teams warned and fined 27 tourist
facilities, including restaurants and a hotels, for failing to adhere to
public health and safety measures, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

In a press statement on Sunday, the ministry said its
monitoring committees carried out 652 inspection tours of tourist businesses
nationwide, and identified offending 68 facilities, noting that 505 others have
committed to coronavirus protocols.
The ministry called on tourist businesses to abide by
defense orders to maintain physical distancing, wear face masks, provide
shishas in outside spaces, and adhere to protocols issued by the Ministry of
Labor on preventive measures at arghileh cafes, Petra reported.
The monitoring teams intensified their tours, especially on
arghileh cafes, and took the legal action against violators for failing to
abide by all the government preventive protocols, the statement added.
