Dr. Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, Director-General of the Jordan Tourism Board, outlined the authority's strategy, which revolves around increasing tourist numbers in the Kingdom through chartered flights for the current year. He proudly noted that Jordan has already welcomed 149 chartered flights, carrying a total of 19,300 foreign tourists since the beginning of the year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.

Arabiyat underscored that the positive impact of tourists arriving in Aqaba extends beyond the airport, as their subsequent visits to all of the Kingdom's tourist and archaeological sites contribute significantly to the overall tourism boost.

He further elucidated that this initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by the authority to attract cost-effective chartered flights directly to King Hussein Airport in Aqaba from various countries. He emphasized the fruitful collaboration between the authority, the Aqaba Economic Zone Authority, and King Hussein International Airport.

Additionally, he highlighted that the authority is actively working to attract more flight routes directly to Amman and Aqaba, thereby promoting visits to tourist and archaeological sites throughout Jordan. These dedicated tourism flights are poised to significantly increase the influx of tourists from Europe.

Arabiyat reiterated the authority's commitment to creating a healthy competitive environment in the aviation sector, using it as a catalyst to stimulate the economy by attracting substantial investments and reinvigorating the Jordanian tourism market. These elements are pivotal to the continued growth of the Jordanian economy. He anticipates that these flight operations will make a substantial impact on tourism in Amman, Aqaba, and other popular tourist destinations across Jordan.
