AMMAN – An airplane carrying 145 tourists from Belarus landed at King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, today Friday, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

As stated in a press release from the Tourism Revitalization Authority, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Nayef Hamidi Al-Fayez, said: “The arrival of the aircraft in
Aqaba and the launching of tourists to visit touristic and archaeological sites throughout the Kingdom supports the movement of the tourist traffic.”
The return of tourist groups to Jordan has been supported by the measures put in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the Kingdom, and comes following the recent opening of the sectors.
The Director of the Tourism Revitalization Authority, Abdulrazak Arabiyat, said that the arrival of foreign tourists will have a positive future impact on tourist traffic in the Kingdom, and stated that the actions taken by the government and the incentives given to aircraft coming to Aqaba have contributed significantly to the increase in tourist traffic.
Arabiyat noted that the authorities are pursuing a policy of support by attracting passenger flights to King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, and they expect an increase in the number of aircrafts carrying tourists for the Kingdom in the coming period.
"The arrival of tourists is the result of joint efforts by the company and the Jordanian Tourism Revitalization Authority," said Paolo Nosherineo, the Director General of Travco. Nosherineo additionally noted that Travco, a company which facilitates a high number of tourist visits, works hard in the Belarus markets in order to attract visitors.
