AMMAN — The Kingdom’s trade deficit
rose by 26.8 per cent to reach JD9.854 billion during the first 11 months of
2022, where the deficit stood at JD7.774 billion for the same period of 2021,
the Department of Statistics (DoS) said on Thursday.

According to a DoS report on
foreign trade,
the volume of Jordan's total exports during the January-November period of 2022
increased by 35.2 per cent to stand at JD8.107 billion, compared with the same
period of 2021, which saw an export volume of JD5.997 billion.
The value of national exports increased by
37 percent through the end of November last year to reach JD7.462 billion,
compared to JD5.446 billion for the same period in 2021.
Meanwhile, the re-export value totaled
JD644.8 million, marking an increase of 17.1 percent compared to the re-export
value for the same period in 2021, which amounted to JD550 million.
The value of imports in the first 11 months
of last year totaled JD17.962 billion, increasing by 30.4 percent from the
JD13.771 billion registered in the same period of 2021.
November monthly dataOn the monthly level, the
trade balance deficit in November 2022 amounted to JD725.1 million, down by 5.1 percent compared
to the same month in 2021.
Jordan's total exports for November 2022 were
valued at JD695.2 million, up by 4.3 percent compared to the same month in
2021.
As for imports, the data showed the monthly
value at JD1.420 billion, marking a drop of 0.7 percent compared to the same
month in 2021.
